This poem holds a few elements, sadness, frustration and hurt are the emotions that I first sense, characterized by the dealings of life. then peace with the answer that the poet has faith and believes fate is in the hands of our very capable God, so in essence threw all of life's tough and rough journeys the author, is at peace, in knowing and belief in the love of his/her God. threw this faith, the author is at beautiful rest.
