Can I keep stubble if I'm using a manual shaving razor?

I'd like to try keeping some stubble on my face. Right now I've been using a Gillette Fusion Proglide manual razor. It has a beard trimmer on the back but idk if that would help or not. So do you have any tips, suggestions?
