Does the home team arrange rent-a-goalies in the NHL?

I am just curious. When the Sharks brought in Jordan White for one game did they just call up UBC athletics and ask if they had a goalie around, or did they ask the Canucks organization if they could suggest someone? I know the Canucks practise at UBC so I am guessing it is the latter, but I am not sure how these things work.
