Flea Bites?

My husband and I recently told a friend he could store some things at our house while he was getting things in order to move....So we have been storing his loveseat in our dining room, which to our suprise we found was infested w/ fleas... for 2 weeks we couldn't understand how we have no pets but have been scratching like crazy and getting bites.....Monday we found out it was the loveseat...We have been Cleaning almost religously and extremely thoroghly. Yesterday we set off the first set of Bug bombs and have been vaccuuming like crazy.......This still doesn't help with our poor legs, as the fleas found home in our berber carpet......We've tried Cortizone cream, Calamine lotion and Aveeno anti itch cream......its horrible and our legs look awful. I've given our 2 year old son oatmeal baths to help soothe him and kept close eye on him so he doesn't scratch.....is there anything Over the Counter that can be taken orally to help these bites heal and stop itching so horribly?
